Mindful Travelling during COVID-19

COVID-19 is here to stay for few more years and this is predicted by many agencies, both governmental and quasi-governmental and people who like to travel (like me!) would still like to travel somewhere. Please do that. Make your trips. Enjoy your vacation and be free. By all means! However, you got to be safe, both psychologically and physiologically. So what can we do to travel mindfully?. Well, here are few tips;

1. Do your research on Countries/locations that have lowest infection rates: Well, it is kind of bucket list which you can make. Make a list of at least 20 such places and come down to top 5 (your own top 5 list)

2. Understand stay options that look safe: Based on reviews online on various travel portals, you will be able to know which places are safe and have good hygienic food and clean rooms

3.  Try to visit less crowded areas: Yes, this goes without saying. If you are in a crowded city like Jakarta, Bangkok or Mumbai, visit locations within the city that are relatively less crowded

4. Carry Masks, Vitamin C, Paracetamol, Sanitizers and antacids: Yes this is very important as we need to stay clean, stay safe and healthy. So for a nip in the weather when you catch cold or eat wrong food, you need to have good amount of medicines. If you are a fan of complementary and alternative medicines, then Amalaki (Indian Gooseberry) or  Triphala (combination of three digestive herbs) can help

5. Visit less places in a day: To stay safe, it is better to visit a couple of places and mindfully spend more time at those places. You may click pictures, watch people and just spend a relaxed and non-rushed vacation. If you are for example in a hilly terrain in Switzerland, buy postcards and write notes to your family and friends

We cannot stop traveling but if we are mindful of ours and other people's health, safety and well-being, we can rejoice a vacation much more beautifully
